you one of those busy ladies who spend most of your days meeting deadlines at work, shuffling the kids to and from school, doing household chores and hoping to have the chance to sit down for a meal? Having a hectic life doesn’t mean you need to give up on well-being, here are strategies that will keep you on track, no matter what life’s throwing at you.
First one is easy, drink a big glass of water upon waking in the morning, and then keep a bottle with you throughout the day. Skip soda or any other sugary drink by having water on hand all the time. Drinking water not only saves you a ton of calories, but it also keeps you hydrated and increases blood flow to your brain, help you stay calm and focused during the busy days.
On days when you don’t have an hour for the gym, why not just move more throughout the day instead. You can do this by playing with your kids, taking the stairs, choose walking instead of taking transportation to close-by errands. To get your strength moves in, do squats while you’re waiting for water to boil, or hammer out a few quick tricep dips on the couch. Trust us, these little things add up.
Get a good night’s sleep. Being tired raises levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can lead to interfering with learning and memory, lower immune function and bone density, increase weight gain, blood pressure, cholesterol, heart disease and the list goes on. Make sure you set bedtime for yourself and do your absolute best to tuck yourself in right on time. After all, there’s nothing like getting a full night’s sleep.
