A low-carb diet limits the consumption of carbohydrate. Instead, you eat real foods that are high in protein and natural fat. A low-carb diet can help you to lose weight in the short term. Here are some recipes for a low-carb diet.

Traditional garlic Chicken dish Spanish style on the table

(1) Lemon Garlic Roasted Chicken (For 4 servings)

Ingredients:

900 g chicken breasts and chicken drumsticks (diced)

4 tbsp butter

2 tsp sea salt

2 tsp ground black pepper

5 garlic cloves (sliced)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 lemon (juiced)

4 tsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)

 

Instructions:

(1) Preheat the oven to 450°F (225°C).

(2) Lightly grease a baking pan with a pat of butter.

(3) Place the chicken pieces in the baking pan and arrange them in a single layer.

(4) Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Drizzle the garlic and parsley over the chicken pieces and pour the lemon juice and olive oil on top.

(5) Bake for 30 minutes until the chicken pieces are fully cooked and the garlic slices have turned brown.

(6) Remove from oven and let stand on a serving plate for a few minutes.

(2) Lemon Butter Salmon (For 6 servings)

Ingredients:

1 kg salmon

1 lemon (sliced)

½ lemon (juiced)

1 tbsp olive oil

200 g butter

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

 

Instructions:

(1) Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

(2) Grease a baking pan with olive oil.

(3) Place the salmon with the skin-side down in the baking pan.

(4) Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper.

(5) Slice a lemon thinly and put the lemon slices on the top of the salmon fillet.

(6) Coat the salmon fillet with half of the butter.

(7) Bake for 25 minutes on middle rack until the salmon fillet is cooked thoroughly.

(8) Melt the rest of the butter in a small saucepan over low-medium heat until boiling. Turn off heat and add the lemon juice.

(9) Serve the salmon fish with the lemon butter sauce on a plate.

(3) Cheesy Meatball (For 4 servings)

Ingredients:

700 g ground beef

1 egg

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

2 tbsp butter

75 ml mayonnaise

110 g cheddar cheese (grated)

 

Instructions:

(1) Add ground beef, an egg and cheddar cheese in a big bowl. Mix well.

(2) Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.

(3) Roll the meat mixture into big meatballs. Set aside.

(4) Fry the big meatballs with butter in a frying pan until they are cooked thoroughly.

(5) Serve the big meatballs with mayonnaise on a plate.
