Slicked-back hair is everywhere, and we want in. The wet look is on trend and it’s here to stay. Hair that shows our fabulous cheekbones in a sporty but still ultra-feminine way? Yep, we’d like some of that, please! And here’s the good news. It’s not just a look for the catwalk. We’re bringing it to the club, and looking cool and slick. So here’s how to do it like the celebs.

1. Mousse up

Work mousse into damp hair, starting at the top of your forehead. Rub the mousse through your crown and stop when you’re halfway down the back of your hair.

2. Blow-dry

Using the oval cushion brush, blow-dry your hair, keeping the top half flat to your head. Don’t worry about flyaways because we’re just about to mousse up again.

3. More mousse

Rub a generous amount of mousse onto the crown of your head, taking care not to slick it down too flat – we want to keep some volume there. It’s the sides you really need to slick flat, to give a clean, catwalk-ready look.

4. Now for the serum

For a style that’s slick and chic, tame your hair with a little hair serum. Use your fingertips to rub it through the mid-lengths, right through to the ends of your hair. Use the paddle brush on the ends of your hair, to neaten them.

5. Set the look

Finish off with hairspray, using the paddle brush to neaten the sides, making sure there are no hairs straying from your head. Spray your crown but don’t brush it – you want loads of volume on the top.

Who knew that slicked-back hair wasn’t just for the celebs? From short hair to mid-length or long, the wet look works for all of us.
