If you want to add just enough shine to your makeup without looking too precious, try a subtle makeup style. The key is to choose soft, subdued shades close to your natural skin and lip colour. To keep your skin dewy, just stick with BB cream, or a touch of concealer where needed. Use a sheer pink for cheeks and lips to create a soft rose shade not much darker than your natural lip colour.
Blue Crush
Your eyes are the most expressive feature on your face, to highlight them you can add a flash of blue sparkle around the lashes to brighten your eyes. First apply a shimmery blue eye shadow on the outer half of the eye, then used a soft brown shadow to blend it toward the inner corner. If you’re not in the mood to deal with blending and buffing, you can always use a metallic blue liner, trace it around your top and bottom lashes for a similar effect. Finish with mascara and add a few individual lashes for extra oomph.
Hot and Sassy
If wearing pink on Valentine’s Day is too ordinary for you, why not try the hot shade of magenta. Bold hue can be incredibly sexy and if the makeup contains equal parts of blue and red, it can create an extremely flattering look without making your skin look washed out or ruddy. Pair it with lightly contoured eyes, false lashes, a rosy blush, to perfect the sassy look, a matching cut-out dress will do the job.
Dark Glamour
If you aren’t a girlie type and hate getting too dolled up, try a combination of deep-berry lips and mauve shadow. Sweep a matte mauve powder over your lid, buffing it up to the brow bone. Then rim your eye with black liquid liner, extending the line into a sharp, pointed wing at the outer corner. Add mascara and a bit of tawny blush along your cheekbones, and finish with a lipstick the colour of a rich Bordeaux.
