Work hard and play harder – nothing’s more satisfying than that! But whether you are on a pilgrimage to Greece, appreciating art in Paris, or simply taking in the whole vibe around England, the long flight to get there can dry out your skin. Don’t let tightness and dehydration drag you down. These tips will help you stay fresh as a daisy, even after a long flight!

Moisturising essence

Apply moisturising essence before you board the plane. If you have oily skin, use an essence that doesn’t contain mineral oil, to avoid clogging your pores.

Use tissue paper to absorb facial oil

Using blotting paper to absorb facial oil is a big NO on a plane. The more blotting paper you use, the oilier your skin will get, which is the opposite of what you want. Instead, just use regular tissue paper. Gently pad it on your face and it will do the trick.

Moisturising mist

Always bring a small bottle of moisturising mist to keep your skin hydrated – but be sure it complies with airport security regulations! One quick reminder: Make sure your mist is alcohol-free, because alcohol can dehydrate your skin even faster.

Apply sunscreen

Yes, you heard us right. Even though you’re indoors, the damage from UV light is far greater when you are flying more than 30,000 feet above the ground. Pulling down the blinds isn’t enough to block out all the UV light, so those of you who like to sit by the window, take note!

Avoid applying makeup

Wearing makeup for 10 or more hours can cause your skin a lot of stress, on top of the damage from dry cabin air. Here’s the remedy: Wait until about an hour before landing to apply your makeup. If you don’t want others to see your bare face, just put on your sunglasses – you can cover up your tired face and have another reason for shopping!

Stay fresh and fine with these tips to avoid dry skin before and after your flight!
